Thespian Hall, the place of the exhi bition, ^ras literally jammed. It was a “tljirty-five cenls show”, they called it, and everybody, men, women and children, were overcome with enthu siasm and excitement over the antici pated performances of the evening. At tlie hour appointed the curtain rose and a programme was gone through with—a little ventriloquism, mesmer ism and slight-of-hand tricks wore in congruously mixed, making up the most magnificent fraud ever perpe trated upon the good people of Winns- ^boro. “A little ventriloquism” we said. Well, there was to'he a little of the kind thrown in to amuse and to surprise, but somehow the artist pleaded indisposition and it wasn’t forthcoming. “Mesmerism” tool It was insultingly so-called, and who dares deny if when the fact is made known to the public that these Aonoi'fl- ble gentlemen counselled and hired two mischievous boys’ to “play ’pos sum” for two free tickets to the gigan tic sell!, This, in our day and genera tion, is denoirjinated the “secrets and mysteries djT mesmerism”.-..Thanks to tho candor of tho boys, they are ATTENTION, HOUSEKEEPERS WIZARD OIL, St Jacob’s Oil, Neiml- gine, Young America Liniment, British Oil, Nerve ami Bone Liniment, Volcanic. _ . , Oil, Brown’s Household Panacea, Golden From the Celebrated Lcmer Mills, ot Liniment, Harter’s Liniment, Pain Kiiler, Nashville, and thirtv thousand pounds > Railway’s l!ea<ly Relief, Holmes’ Liniment, • Jayne sLimment,AimcaLimm»nt,Capcine °f I Plasters, strengthening Piasters, Mustard Plasters, Belladonna Plasters, Turner’s Tic Douloureux Pills.
