We learn that Mrs. Cooper is how quite ill with the same disease to which he was a victim—typhoid fever. We sincerely hope she may speedily recover. A Reminder of Sherman.—During the late war Mr. Walter Boney, who then lived in Winnsboro, buried a atch in the neighborhood of the stiring some distance in rear of the house now occupied by Dr., R. B. Hanahan. Mr. Bdney died a few days after Sherman passed through Winnsboro, but had given ho informa tion of the whereabouts of the watch. The Ayrshires were at first the favorites. They were ‘cracked up’ by Gen. John Bratton, and whatever the General says is con sidered law and gospel fn this his immediate stamping ground. But the General, like many others, is fickle— at least iu the cow line—and although he still liodds that the Ayrshires are the best milkers in the world he yet thinks Hi at the Jerseys are the best butter cowg. General Bratton has devoted time and money to the raising of cattle, and it is due to iiis efforts mainly that this part of the country is being stocked with thoroughbred cat tle. Capt. John L. Agurs is General Bratton’s echo in Chester, and' he has done for Chester county what Bratton has done for Fairfield.
