Would it not lie a commendable thing for the merchants to clbse their stores At six o’clock? Certainly it would be es teemed quite a favor by the young men, to.give them an additional hour or two of thtf day during the summer mouths for social enjoyment. To tire mcrchAnts it can make bUt little AiSer- ence, pecuniarily, but to the clerks it means a great deal.
