A Valuable Mule Recovered.—
Mr. J. M. Galloway, of While bak;
after many weeks of fruitless search,
j bus at last found his stolen mule. He
[traced the hogbe into Spartanburg
(county and there found the mule in
[the possession of an innocent holder.
|We have not as yef Jcarned the name of
[the thief, but it is said that he is a
white man of good education, speaking
[ tlufftitly four or live differelit languages,
i He has been in the penitentiary several
[times already, ami there is now a re-
Ward offered for bis apprehension. It
Is believed by some that the same des
perado made away with ti e lost mule
[of Mr. W. R. Rubb, and this circmn-
Istancc. may put him in possession of
[facts that may result in its recovery.
IWe hope the outlaw will be appro-

The Grand Tyler himself WAs loVidly

He said: “It \s hot customary for one

know ‘of no law or precedent which
forbids it, and'I will say a word of
parting before I go. I regret to leave
you, but it is nbt because l love the
