Her health had for some time been I'ailjug, and her death was not unpx- pectcd. She had reached the advanced age of eighty-five years, ami had plways been of a very vigorouc consti tution. She was a daughter of the )nte John Means, and the wife of {he late Rev. Robert Means of the Presbyterian church. Site was a mem ber of the Presbyterian church, and a Christian woman of the highest type. Her memory will always be reverenced by her numerous kindred and friends, The funeral services were held in the Methodist chiirch'on Wednesday iqorn- ing, condncted by the Rev. D. E. Jor dan, and tho remains were interred in the adjoining graveyard. Mrs. Sarah Fleming died on Wednes day morning, of heart, disease., In spite of her age, her general health jtad been good, and her end was sud den. Mrs. Fleming was the widow of the late ^aipcs Fleming, and was born in Columbia. She had reached her eightieth year in January last. She leaves four children—among theip Mrs. Elizabeth McMaster and Mrs. M. W. llrown of this place. Mrs. Fleming \vas a. consistent member of the Metho- • jdist church, to the teachings and prac tices of which she was ever faithful, and she enjoyed the devoted affection of kindred and Mends alike. Her remains were taken to Columbia, where the funeral services will be held. Mrs. Sarah Fi Trotti died at her res idence in Coinmbia on Monday morn ing of heart disease. Although She bad been in a critical condition for several weeks, her end was not ex pected so soon; but she passed away perfectly conscious to the last,’ at per fect peace with her Maker and with all the world. Mrs. Trotti was the eldest daughter of Df. David H. Means, formerly of this county, and, was born about the, j ear 1820. In her youth she married lion. S. W. Trotti, of Barnwell, and lived happily with him until his death several years be-- fore the war, at which time she re turned to her old home in Fairfield* For several yea,v$ she lived in Co lumbia. Mrs. Trotti htjd no children of her own, but was a mother to all the motherless entrusted to her charge. For many years a member of the Pres byterian church, her devoted piety, her amiability, gentleness, charity and bcneyplence, made her an example and a pattern to all who knew her. Her face will be seen no more on earth, but her memory will, Ippg survive; and the world will be better for this conspicuous instance of “a life hid with Christ fn God.” « edtlveyor in 896 acres in Horeb town ship ; consideration $400.
