D. Blakeny, Esq., of Kershaw, spent Monday in town. -Mr. Jas. Macfie succeeds Mr. Hood as clerk at the dis pensary. -Mr. James Wethersbee is now assistant depot agent at Rock Hill, -Mr. Holbrook Rion has ac cepted a position in the depot at Columbia. -Miss Edith Lyles who has been on a visit to Miss Bessie Lyles has returned home. Mrs. R. H. Jennings of Co lumbia spent several days last week with, friends in town. -Mr. F. C. Billingslea, of Spanish Town, Jamaica is visit ing at Mrs. Jno. Greight's. -Be at Thespian Vall Thurs day evening to enjoy the enter tainment by the Boston Stars. *-Miss Helen McDonald of the Presbyterian College for Women ran up Friday for a short stay. -Mrs. A. L. McCarley and Miss Nettie Sitgreaves attended the openings in -Columbia last week. -Mrs. MeWaters of Black stock spent Sunday at the Winns boro:Hotel with her brother, Mr. H. Hanahan, Esq., is being comn pletely overbaailed and will be greatly imp-.oved in appearance' and convenience when the work is completed. -President Johnston of the Fairfield Agricultural Society says that he never saw a better outlook for large exhibits at a county fair than at present. Hood who has for several years been the efficient overseer of this section of the Southern's line his given up his position and opened up a dry .goods and clothing store in the old auditor's office to the rear of the jail.
