Mrs. Etta Kerr of Rock Hill is visiting friends in Crosbyville. Messrs. Charlie Colvin, Jas. Guthrie, Oriel Wishert and Curtis E. Crosby - arrived home on the 19th inst. from the S. C. C. Institute in Edgefield to spend Christmas. Oriel Wishert is con fined to his bed with typhoid fever. His friends wish him a speedy recovery so that he can enjoy his vacation. Crosbyville is now- connected with Chester, Union and Winns boro by telephone. We have a line direct from Crosbjville to Chester (seventeen miles) without a phone on it, and there is a line from Crosbyville to Union with out a phone, only one swiich board to pass through. We bave a switchboard at Crosbyvitie*ith eight phones coming into it. I will close wishing The News and Herald a pleasant Christmas and a prosperous New Year. Dec. 23, 1901. . A. J. Snwell anted to attend a party, but was afraid to do so on account of pains in his stomach, which he feared would grow worse.
