lecture, at the close of the first
year's exercises in Wofford Col
lege, I alluded to that celebra
tion. The manuscript which was
before me then has been unopened
for many years. It lies before

fined to his bed with typhoid
fever. His friends wish him a
speedy recovery so that he can
enjoy his vacation.
Crosbyville is now- connected
with Chester, Union and Winns
boro by telephone. We have a
line direct from Crosbjville to
Chester (seventeen miles) without
a phone on it, and there is a line
from Crosbyville to Union with
out a phone, only one swiich
board to pass through. We bave
a switchboard at Crosbyvitie*ith
eight phones coming into it.

A. J. Snwell anted to attend a party,
but was afraid to do so on account of
pains in his stomach, which he feared
would grow worse. He says, "I was
telling my troubles to a lady friend,
