Qualifications of Voters for In tendent and Wardens of the Town of Camden. BY A. A. 1824, it is enacted, "That from and after the passage of this Act, every white man who is by the Constitution of this State entitled to vote for members of either branch of the Legislature, shall be entitled to vote for Intcndant aiid Wardens of the town cf Camden, any law, usage or custo.*u to the contrary notwithstanding. Provided such person so offering to vote as aforesaid shall have resided in said town one year immediately preceding the election of said officers: the pe'sons so voting, if required, shall produce to the managers of elections certificate from the Intendant or Recorder of said town, of his having performed patrol or road duty, or paid an equivalent for not doing so, within said town. By A. A. 1825, it is enacted, "That from and after xue passing 01 mis Act, every ircc wiute man 01 uie Age of 21 years, who shall be possessed of any real estate within the town of Camden, for which ho shall have paid to the town any tax for the year immediately preceding, shall be entitled to vote for Intenduntand Wardens of said town, and every officer who may be elected by'the citizens thereof."' Qualification of Voters for Members of the Legislature. Every free white man of the ago of 21 years, (parij?ere and non-commissioned officers, and privates of the United States excepted,) being a citizen of this State and having resided therein two years previous to the J day of election, and who has a freehold of fifty acres o land, or a town lot of which he has been legally seized and possessed at least six mouths before such election, or not having such freehold or town lot, hath boen a resident in the election district in which he offers to give his vote, before the election six months, shall have a right to vote for a member or members to serve in either branch of the Legislature for the election district in which lie holds such property or residence. The two years resideuce required by tho Constitution in a voter, are the two years immediately previous to the election, and the six months residence in the election district are tho six months immediately previous to the elocton; but if any person has his home in tho State, he does not lose the right of residence by temporary absence with the intention of returning: and if he has his home in the election district his right to vote is not impaired by a temporary absence with the intention of returning.
