The Fair this year was in man respects all that could he desired. 'I h weather was line and the atiendaiu larger than ever. The exhibit through the whole Fair, while in so ntimerous as last year, showc marked improvement in nearly a departments. The earnival e onpany that fu _nisneu me amusement for both ol and young, while perhaps not tli best in the country, was the best t be had. Owing to recent rulings ? the federal railroad commission seemed very doubtful if any sort i a show could be secured. The balloon man left nothing t be desired. He made, according t agreement, a beautiful ascension eac day of the fair. The d ty-ligi fire-works, by the way, that wet to be fired in the air, did not arriv They were ordered late and evident! lost in transit. There were four booth* conduct! by the ladies cf (Teraw and Ck:v terfield, all of a eharit bio namr* Each one of them <1 id a most gratif; ing business. The ladies of Chera conducted a booth called the counti store, where a great variety of a tides, all contributed, were sold. Ti exact figures are not at hand but tidy sum was cleared for the R< Cross Chapter at Choraw. Another booth was conducted 1 the Chesterfield Red Cross, where r freshnients were sold, a el aboi $100.00 ^TIS cleared The Methodist Woman's Missioi ary Society conducted a refreshmei booth where over $100.00 was clea ed and a Japanese picture and st, tionery booth, where about 15.00 pri fit was made. Thrower, of Ch'-rav exhibited a las^re Amor1'' in flat? mad of red, white and blue flowers. Sh also had on display her French sci vict* ll.itf, bearing one tar, showin thut she has a son now in the s -rvic of his country on French soil. They constituted excellent a* vertisements for the communitie from which they came. Macedonia won first prize, the set ond Rointf to Wexford.
