White, Sister Lula Johnson, the great spiritual singer of Jacksonville, Fla., the Rev.~Lyda Crook (white) his wife, Mrs. Lola, . and son, Mr.' Vincent Crook ot central High School, Central, S. C., visited the State penitentiary to hold morning services with the convicts. The Rev. Lyda1 Crook is a __ I whifp preacher of West-Ash p. vine, in. t;.. one- devoted to the cause of ftie Lord. ' Rev. White met -him on a recent trip to Asheville and invited him down to preach at Big Zion and to speak* 1 at the State penitenlong his wif e,who i^ also a young white woman of rare Bible rtaining and his son who _is in the school at Central. The services were brief. Dr. J. Dean Crane, prison chaplain, v conducted the services. Sister ?r . There were six countries represented by six ladies, namely, Mrs. F. K. Butler representing America; Mrs. H. N. Vincent, Switzland ; Mrs. J. R. Cornwell, Australia; Mrs. E. V. Daniels, Ireland; Mrs. Wm. Johnson, Japan; and?Mrs M V. Johnson, Iceland. ? The trip was largely attended by various ~ denominattonsr consisting of children as well as adults. M. Daniels and assisted by Mr. F?K. Butter andMr. J. R. Cornwell wha were also kept busy directing the people and the cars.
