We wish every farmer in the coun? ty had plots of vetch and alfalfa. The writer is just cutting a crop of vetch and oat hay that stands four feet high and is so thick that a ra? can hardly get through it. The first cutting of alfalfa from the five-acre field on J. L. Coker & Company's farm was made three wi ek. ago. This cutting yie'ded two tons of dry hay (SOO pounds per acre> and the field will yield a larger cut? ting than this in a week or ten days. The writer made five cuttings ag? gregating 6 1-2 feet from a small plot last season, and we have already cut this plot twice this season (about 18 inches each time).
