A full corps of excellent teachers i will be on hand Monday morning, with Superintendent Swittenberg in charge. Misses Erckmann, Cunningham and Heape are the only other 1 former members of the faculty who will make up that body during the coming session. These need no intro, duction to the patrons of the school. The new principal is a man of experience, and, like the other new members of the corps, was selected wif-h an avp cincrlp tn pffinipnnv in the position assigned them. The school building is being thoroughly overhauled and put into a condition that compares with, if it does not outshine, that of its first opening about twelve vears ago. Each class room, from that of the "leetle fust" to the more pretentious one of the "big tenth" has been thoroughly renovated, the floors scrubbed and oiled and the walls all freshly frescoed. Blackboards have been repainted, furniture and all wood work cleaned off and polished. In fact, the entire interior of the big building has been made to appear as new and its sanitary condition has never been better at the opening of a session than it is today. The big storm that passed over Kingstree in July, perhaps, did more damage to the school building than to any other in town. Glass wa3 blown out of the windows and the rain poured in upon the floors while the roof, apDarently with no more resistance than a sieve, allowed the water to pour through upon the walls and ceiling, damaging them almost beyond recognition. The condition was such that some one had to pitch in and remedy it. Mr Swittenberg took the necessary steps, and upon the authority of the trustees and with the co-operation of the Parent-Teacher association and a large force of skilled workmen. The work has been progressing very nicely, and the interior will be in * ? . _ ? i.1 readiness ior tne opening 01 ine session Monday, while it will require several weeks longer to get the exterior in good condition.
