Fred S Kempf and his wife were burned to death while the show peopel looked helplessly on. Their 4year-old child was saved through the heroism of her mother alone. Flames were licking at one of the palatial auto trucks of the Kempfs, which were on a flat car and in which the Kempfs were imprisoned. Mrs Kempf, seeing that there was no chance to escape, hurled her child through a window, clear of the train. Then the mother fell back and was burned alive a minute later. INTERESTING MEETING Indlantown Demonstration Club Programme for December. The second meeting of the Indiantown Demonstration club was held November 6, with Mrs W D Daniel. After preliminary business, Miss Edwards enrolled a few new members, bringing the club enrollment up to about twenty-five. On the resignation of the president,Mrs James F Cooper was elected presi dent and Mrs \V \V Barr secretary, to fill the vacancy caused hy Mrs Cooper's election to the presidency. The demonstration (which part of the programme was under Miss Edwards' supervision) was the "model school lunch" in a model container. The thing that made this lunch a model one was the fact that the food therein contained what in modern^home-keeping is called a balanced ration?that is, one which contains the right amount of mineral mattercarbohydrates, fat and proteins. The lunch consisted of the following: One orange, meat paste sandwiches, potato salad with mock mayonnaise dressing and celery, oatmeal cookies. The programme for the December meeting will be as follows: I. Planning and arrangement of dining room. II. Serving ol meals. III. Demonstration: (l) Laying the table; (2). Serving of simple meal. At these meetings Miss Edwards has for distribution pamphlets containing information on and recipes for any article which may come under that particular demonstration. The next meeting is to be held at Indiantown school house-December 4. All ladies of the community are invited, whether members of the club or not. The last meeting was very encouraging, there being twenty-five present. It is hoped that the next meeting will be even better attended. Come and learn a little more than you know now. Governor Manning gave out the following statement last Saturday in reference to the warehousing ar.d marketing of cotton: "Recently we have seen a depression in the price of cotton, which, from our information, both as to the size and demand for the crop, is, in my judgment. unwarranted. It is possible that this slump was caused by reason of the fact that a large number of sellers placed their crop on the market, and for the time being the supply was greater than the demand. It is, therefore, of the utmost importance that we market the crop slowly and gradually in order to maintain a higher scale of value and prevent another such depression in < price. "I fully realize, of course, that debts are due and must be paid, and in order to meet these obligations our farmers must realize ready cash. In order, therefore, for those who have cotton on hand to market it slowly and gradually, and at the same time meet their pressing obligations, I would suggest that the resources obtainable through the Federal reserve banks are ample to enable the farmer to hold his cotton and make short-term loans on same at reasonable rates of interest, so as to hold the cotton off the market until an advance in price takes place sufficient to make it profitable to the farmer. "It is necessary, in order to secure loans from the Federal reserve banks, that the cotton be properly warehoused and insured. In my judgment it is necessary to properly warehouse and insure the cotton, whether money is borrowed or not. I would, therefore, urge our people nnt tn allow their cotton to be ex posed to the weather and dangers from fire, especially at this season of the year. We have made a short crop, and it is of great impotance that it be protected in every way possible. We must realize the full value of this crop. This we can do if will take advantage of the opportunity that is offered for cheap money through the Federal reserve bank and warehouse our cotton and market it slowly." Chamberlain's Tablets. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting directly upon the blood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby destroying the foundation of the disease. and giving the patient strength by building up the constitution and assisting nature in doing its work.
