Harvin, June 15:?Hon John R Dingle of Summerton.who was twice elected to represent the people of Clarendon county in the State Legislature by a very flattering vote, has: * ? i ? i I announced nis candidacy ior trie State Senate to fill out the.unexpired term of the late Hon Louis Appelt. Mr Dingle is a native of Clarendon and represents one of the oldest fam-' iliel of the county. He is a farmer, I depending entirely upon this avoca- j tion for his livelihood. Some years! ago he won the prize for raising the most corn to one acre in the county, j He is in the prime of life, well edu-1 cated, and has at heart the best interests of the plain people, whose! v welfare will be conserved at all times. Mr and Mrs J Lynfc'ood Gamble r - % 1 and Mr and Mrs Earle McFaddin of Sardinia, who were married at the ? same hour on the 9th inst at Saluda /. and Bethune, have returned to their respective homes at Sardinia, where they will reside in the future. ^ Hon John Ingram Brogdon of Brogdon, one of the most popular and progressive farmers of Sumter county, has been prominently mentioned as a very suitable successor in the House of Representatives to Hon George W Dick, recently^ap, pointed postmaster of Sumter. Mr Brogdon'8 friends everywhere hope that he will enter the race, for they believe he can be easily elected. He is the embodiment of honor, purity and integrity and could be counted on at all times to do the right thing for his county, State and nation. Mr and Mrs James Carlise Bradham, who have been spending their honeymoon in western North Carolina, returned home Saturday. Dr H C Bruns, formerly of Manning but now of Georgetown, with his beautiful and most entertaining bride, formerly Miss Effie Camm of Georgetown, passed through Harvin Saturday, after spending a delightful honeymoon at the watering places . in western North Carolina. Dr Bruns while in this section made a host of friends, who will rejoice to know of the success he is attaining in his chosen profession. Miss Kitty Calbraith McFaddin of Harvin is spending * the week-end with her friend,Miss Martha Molynn Benson of Sumter. Mrs Eugenia Spears Nettles is spending some days with her sister, . Mrs Robert Alford Burgess,Sumter. Miss Maggie Keels of Rhems, who spent the week-end with Mrs Alexander Manigault Keels, has returned home. She was accompanied by her friend, Miss Marie Eaddy of Rhems. Miss,Zola May Britton.the charm. ing daughter of Mr and Mrs N W Britton, is home for the vacation season.
