A. Kelley, of Florence County, Badly Hurt. Mr J A Kelley, a well known and well-to-do farmer near Timmonsville,while adjusting the saw9 of one of the gins on his plantation Friday morning, got his left hand caught in the whirling machinery and his hand and arm were so badly lacerated that it was necessary to have the arm amputated near the shoulder. Mr Kelley was brought to the Florence infirmary, and is resting fairly well. Just about the same time that Mr Kelley was injured a negro on the plantation of Mr Mack Gregg, near this city,had his arm caught in agin and it was necessary to amputate the hand. Some months ago this neapro lost one of his hands by acciientally shooting himself and today ie is handless. ? Florence Daily Times. We wish for our young friends much health and happiness. , ' The White Oak baseball team crossed bats with the Cedar Swamp boys last Saturday and were again defeated, this time the score being 4 to 1 in favor of the visiting team. The ladies of the community did a very bountiful and much appreciated part in supplying the table ' / with appetizing comestibles.
