Leo, May 121:?Mr R A Brown went to Rock Hill the first of last week and reported having had a iiuc uuic. The Prospect Graded school is closing another successful scholastic year. Below is given the commencement programme: Friday, 8 p. m., musical recital bv the music class. This class has been under the careful supervision of Mrs W Frank Shepherd. Sunday, 11 a. m., the commencement sermon was preached in Prospect church by Rev S J Bethea of Lynchburg. Monday, 8 p. m., a general exhibition by the school, as follows: Fairy Wedding, by the primary grades. Scenes in the JUnion Depot, by the high school'department. Tuesday, 8 p. m., programme by the Prospect literary society and the graduating exercises. The commencement address followed,by Hon Thos H Tatum of Bishopville. Mrs W Frank Shepherd had to leave last Saturday morning on the early train for her home at Cartersville on account of the illness of her husband. Mrs Shepherd has made many warm friends around Prospect, who hated to see her leave. "Uncle" Daniel Durant attended church at Prospect last Sunday. His Al_ J L presence inere aoes mucu guuu, whether he preaches or not. We love to be with Uncle Daniel,because we believe him to be a child of God. Brother P B Ingraham, pastor of Prospect and Johnsonville churches, is a good worker, too. Brother Ingraham is doing much for the Lord in our school work. I tell you, Mr Editor, that is where we like to see the good work going on?in our schools. Mr W S Eaddy was a visitor at Prospect last Sunday: The Messrs Bartell, two of the business men of Indiantown, were visitors at Prospect Sunday. There were also many others, but we have not time to mention their names. M X? Mr Brown is making room for a larger business. Just as soon as Mr Gaskins finishes the store he will commence on Mr Brown's large gin house. Mr R L Carter, a delegate from Prospect lodge, K of P, will attend the convention to be held at Aiken within the next few da>s.
