I hope you will not think me so singular as not to desire to have the plural number in my family, or that I am too masculine to be neuter in regard to the feminine; wherefore, dear madam, let us have our affections in commonof two. This will make a participle of happiness, if you please actively to give your voice to be passive herein; be you but supine, and I'll be deponent. Thus you will find it the optative part of my soul to be a lawful concord with the genitive; my whole income shall be a dative to you for the present; nothing shall be ac- f; cusative against you for the future, and your dear name shall ever be my vocative till death, the great ablative of all tnings, pan us. I am, dear madam, Your most obsequious adorer, Paul Pedagogue. i Coker-Coker. Bethel, December 2:?A beautiful wedding took place at the home of Mr J L Coker, Wednesday evening, / November 27, at 4:30 o'clock, when Mr L C Coker of Hebron was united in marriage with Miss Eva Coker,of this place. The bride is the o'Jest sister of Mr J L Coker. The home was filled with relatives, friends and visitors, some coming * quite a distance to witness the cere- _ Jjj mony. The house was beautifully decorated in white, blue and pink. Miss Belva Broadway of Paxville presided at the organ, the selection being the "Bridal Chorus from Lohengrin." As those soft strains came t forth Miss Louise Wilson of Bethel entered with Mr Francis Buddin of Kingstree, then followed Miss Mary Burgess of Bethel with Mr Arthur Cooper of Bethel, next came Miss Ruth McElveen of Bethel with Mr John Lewis Coker, a brother of the bride, then came Miss Jeddie Coker, a sister of the bride.with Mr J Ollie Gowdy of Lake City, last came the hride and groom. The couples stood within the chancel, facing each other, while the bride and groom stood V beneath an arch of white and evergreen. Rev Mr Clark of Olanta in a very simple yet impressive manner, performed the marriage ceremony, af- , ?.' * ter which the newly wedded couple slowly left the home, followed by the other couples. , ' The bridal party then left for a' drive and returned about dark.when a reception was awaiting them. Several courses were served, after which an evening of pleasure was enjoyed. Messrs Hardy and Letcher McElveen acted as ushers for the occasion, being assisted by Messrs Des , Gowdy of Lake City and Lee Cooper of Bethel. Mr and Mrs Coker will make their future home in the Hebron section. A Friend. . A at Suits its . V DU > it. rv . i at Suits |
