A young wornf exceptionally fine character with an apparently very bright re before her, just in the full of young womanhood, snatched - with but little warning. The seriousness of her illness was not realized until a few hours before the end?not in time for any of her immediate family to reach her. The day of death was the anniversary of her wedding. Mrs Brown was a Miss Hvdrick and a daughter of Mr and ^ Mrs A J Hydrick of North, Orangeburg county, and a niece of Judge D JSJjydrick, of the supreme court. iP^body, accompanied by the desolated husband, Mr and Mrs A A Brown, Dr A H Williams and Mr J L Richardson, was carried back to the old home and laid to rest. NEGRO LYNCHED AT HONEA PATH For Assaulting Young Glrl-Huxig by Reels and Shot to Death. Greenville, October 10: ?In the depths of a forest, six miles north of Greenville, an armed mob of twenty-five men, headed by "Citizen'' Josh Ashley, of Honea Path, a; member of Anderson county's Legis-1 lative delegation, overpowered Deputy Sheriff Van B Martin, of Anderson county, and Sheriff J Perry Poole, of Greenville county, this afternoon and took from their custody! one Willis Jackson, a 17-year-old negro, charged with criminally assaulting the 11-year-old daughter of a prominent citizen of Honea Path, at 7:30 o'clock this morning. The trembling negro was placed j in the car in which Ashley and four i other men rode, and followed by a train of several other automobiles from Anderson and Greenville counties, loaded with determined men and bristling with shotguns and rifles, the ringleaders turned in their fury and started toward Honea Path. A long distance telephone message from Honea Path says that at 11:24 o'clock to-night. Willis Jackson was swung to a telephone pole by one of his heesi and his bcdy riddled with bullets. The negro was carried to the identical spot where the crime was committed and from there to the nearest telephone pole Jind swung up by one foot.
