WTAt^a regular meeting of the | Farmers'Union held at Piney Forest, I Septemb-^ 7. a committee was appointed to confer with the directors of the cotton warehouse in Kingstree and arrange, if possible, to hold their cotton in it this season. This meeting was held Saturday, September 9, and the Union was offered the warehous at a reasonable price and on reasonable terms, The directors said they were glad to be in position to let the Union have the warehouse on such terms they could meet, and that any I^Brthor assiatAnro from them could be had at any time. This committee was also instructed to 9ee the Kingstree banks as to loans on cotton warehouse receipts. This meeting was held at 3 o'clock. In the absence of Mr C W Stoll, Mr E C Epps represented the Bank of I Williamsburg,Dr Scott and Mr Hugh MoCutchen both being present. They offered every inducement to the Union to hold cotton and would lend money j on warehouse receipts to any amount in ^keeping with sound banking. They also said the four banks in the > county could finance the cotton crop I without any loans from elsewhere. ftfikMsaw no reason now for the BPPiersto seii their cotton, if these ^propositions meet the approval of Ithe Union on next Saturday, Sepf tember 16, at a call meeting in the | court house.
