BLEASE LACKS EQUIPOISE. ? Has Somewhat Disappointed Him. Says Senator Tillman. Senator B R Tillman, who was here Saturday to attend a meeting of Winthrop trustees, chatted for some time with a group of newspaper men in quite his old way. "Phys ^llylama bit weak," he said."The machinery doesn't run just right. When I look in the glass I say: 'That's old Ben Tillman, all right'; but when I try to go go through some of my old stunts I find I'm not worth a d?." "Will you stand for re-election?" the Senator was asked. "I have already said," he replied, " kof mv Vipnlth is fairly good I vuav 14 4*4J (IWOMV*. ? shall run again. I do hot wish the offifce unless I can fill it reasonably well." The Senator has not decided whether he will attend the special session vi^jSongress; he probably will not. He is paired with a New Englander whose position on the tariff would likely be the opposite to his own. "And what do you think of Governor Blease?" a reporter ventured. "I have given my opinion of Blease," said Mr Tillman; "I gave it right after the last election. It hasn't changed much. He has disappointed me somewhat; but he has had a hard road to travel. You newspaper folks have nagged him continually and he hasn't had the equipoise to keep an even keel under those conditions." Senator Tillman hopes the Demo*" crats will tackle the tariff as a whole, not in spots. He thinks the whole task perilous in the extreme. "Every party that has tried to revise the tariff has shortly afterwardgotten it in the neck," he said. "Oh, Bailey just got into a pet," the Senator said when asked about the Texan's resignation. "He swung his little hatchet, the head flew off and he got his head bunged up. I think he'll be good hereafter."?Co. hi itibia Iie<ord. ? ? ? ^ There is more Catarrh in this section of the country than all other diseases put together, and until the last few years was supposed to be incurable. For a great many years doctors pronounced it a local disease 1 and prescribed local remedies, and jJ* by constantly failing to cure it with local treatment, pronounced it incurable. Science has proven catarrh to be a constitutional disease and therefore requires constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure, manufactured by F J Cheney & Co,Toledo, Ohio, is the only constitutional cure on the market. It is taken internally in doses from 10 drops to a teaspoonful. It acts directly on the blood and mucous surfaces of the Thov nffpr nne hundred dol lars for any case it fails to cure. Send for circulars and testimonials. * F J CHENEY & CO, Toledo. 0. Columbia, March 25:?The refusal of Governor Blease to commission Judge Ernest Moore as special udge to hold a special term of court at Union, commencing Monday, Judge Moore having been recommended, has renewed the special Judgeship! fight. It would appear that the ques- i tion of whether or not the supreme! court can mandamus the Governor of the State is now put squarely up , to that tribunal. In the presence of Senator Benja^ jnin Ryan Tillman and Mr R E Wy' lie of Lancaster, whom Judge Moore | asked to come here to get his commission.Governor Blease said to-day: "Ira B Jones can mandamus or G? damus or do anything he pleases. I am not going to appoint Ernest Moore as special Judge tor the Union county court. You can tab* thpsp naners back, for I will t ? r -I not read them." 'JThese remarks were addressed to Mr Wyiie.who peresented the request for the commission for Judge Ernest L Moore. ^ i When you have rheumatism in your foot or instep apply Chamberlain's Liniment and you will get * quick relief. The church was beautifully decorated with evergreens and pink and white carnations. Promptly to the strains of Mendelssohn's wedding march came the ushers, Messrs Eli Hanna and ?DeWitt. Following came: Mr Julian Hanna with Miss Lilla Rose; Mr Holland Covington with Miss Mattie Brown; Mr David Hanna with Miss Josib Bartell; Mr William Lever with Miss Kathryn Bridgman. Little Ruth Wilson and Lizzie Hanna, who entered just before the bride and the groom, were dressed in pink and white, carrying baskets of pink roses, and made dainty flower girls. The charming bride, becomingly attired in a gown of white messaline and carrying a bouquet of bride's roses and ferns, entered on the arm of her maid of honor, Miss Ruby Little, who wore a dainty creation of white and carried pink carnations. The groom, entering with Mr Robert Hanna, met the bride at the chancel, where the vows were given by Rev A C Bridgman, pastor of the bride. Then to the recessional of Lohengrin's wedding march, the bridal party passed from the church and, entering carriages, drove to the bride's home, where an elegant dinner was served to the wedding party and a few other guests. The many useful and beautiful presents testify to the popularity of the bride and groom. Mrs Covington is a young woman of many charms and accomplishments.
