Postmaster J P. Files has returned : home after a two weeks' vacation. While away he visited his friends and relatives in North Carolina. Miss Minnie Bryan is spending some lime on Pawley's Island visiting her aunt, Mrs W R Bryan. Miss Hattie Lewis has returned from a few days' visit among friends in Georgetown, j* Mr W T Evans spent Wednesday ^ in Kingstree attending to busness. We are glad to learn that the fam-' ily of Mr M L Boyd at Spring Gully j is improving from an extended spell, of sicKness. The Misses Camlin of Andrews' spent a few days here last week visiting their aunt. Mrs T G McDonald. Mr E L Powell, manager of the ! Trio Mercantile Company, is getting, his crinnerv in first-class condition j fur the cumin? season. We are glad to note that Mr W P Moore's littie daughter, Madge. is somewhat better from a severe atS tack of sickness. During the hard thunder-storm j last Friday night lightning struck the dwelling of Mr Willie Richard4 son, who lives on the farm of Mr J ? W Register, doing some damage. It. knocked one end of the house partly out and gave Mr Richardson a slight j ?Vf shock,but did no worse harm than to - > - ?u. .?f tko familv tngnien me ie3?. ?... Mr T G McDonald, our affable station agent. went to Andrews Sunday to see his sister. Mrs?Waldron, who has been sick for some time. I The rains for the past two weeks have swollen all the creeks around here. The young- boys are having- n fine time going in bathing in the culvert which flows under the railroad about two hundred yards east of the depot. I Mr and Mrs W E Graham spent I last Sunday with the former's son. f Mr A W Graham, who lives near H town. Mr J P Frierson. foreman of the chaingang, brought a colored boy here last Saturday for Dr Moore to sew up and dress the boy's hjrnd, it having been very badly cut \ an axe while he and another negi Ve cutting out some stumps.
