After hearty J congratulations had been offered , each guest was conducted to the punch-bowl, presided over by ' Miss Selma Thorn and Mr \V S [ Gilland. The guests were next ' invited to the dining-room by ^ Miss Hannah Radcliffe Gale and 1 Mr John DeSaussure Gilland, ' where tempting refreshments \ were served by four Japanese \ maids: Misses Florrie Jacobs, ! Dora James Epps, Belle McClary and Viola Chandler. The din- ' ing hall was decorated with Japanese umbrellas, red color , scheme, red candle-sticks and , chrysanthemums. The luncheon ' cloth was linen cheney lace. ^ After ample justice had been ; donejo the dainty menu.Miss ; Mary Edith Jacobs and Mr Philip ] Arrowsmith invited the guests , into the library, where the large j number of handsome presents ( were displayed. Here also each ] guest inscribed his or her auto- ] graph in the register kept by ( Miss Lily Cunningham and Mr i Montague Jacobs. A pretty con- < ceit was the material of which ] the register was made?burnt < wood. ] Ehe color scheme of the libra- J ry decorations was pink, with ? pink chrysanthemums, while the ] reception room was tastily dec- ] orated in green and white and the hall in yellow and white. ' Mrs W N Jacobs wore a hand- J some trown, black lace over black | taffeta with jet trimmings, prin- < cess style, and carried a bouqet ( of white chrysanthemums. < Miss Barbara Jacobs was ' gowned in pink moire silk, with la France roses.
