McCollough for an invitation to attend the Sixth Annual Commencement of Cleinson College, which will take place June 6th to 8th. Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Chandler, Misses Laura and Pet Chandler returned Monday night to their home in Valdosta, Ga., after a pleasant j visit to relatives in this county. Hon. M. C. Gallachat, of Manning, was registered at Barr's Hotel Tuesday. Mr, Gallachat is a candidate for Congress from the First district and seems confident of success. Prof. Olin Fipps. who has been teaching a flourishing school at Ilendersonville, Colleton county, is home for the summer. Prof. Epps is well pleased with Colleton and its people. Hon. W. M. Keels was in Kingstree Tuesday and in response to an inquiry stated that he would not be a candidate for the legislature this year, all reports to the contrary notwithstanding. Editor Herbert S. Cunningham, of the Bishopville Vindicator, accompanied by his daughters. Mrs. Io Whittle and Miss Lutie Cunningham, visited relatives near town last week. Mr. Cunningham is a native of Williamsburg county and has many relatives and friends here, who were glad to see him and his daughters. Mrs. W. H. Laid to Rest. - Little Edith Stackley, the infant, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L Slacklev, died Monday morning after a lingering illness. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the residence of Air. Stackley, after which the precious remains were conveyed to the Williamsburg cemetary and consigned to the grave.
