Accepts the Findings of the Schlej Court. Washington, Special. ? Secretary Long Saturday issued the following order, dissolving the Schley court cf ! iniiiirv. The order was commitni I cated at once to Admiral Dewey, preI sident of the court, who acknowledged its receipt and said that in conformity with the order of the secretary, he had announced the dissolution of the court. Following is the text of the letter sent by Secretary Long to Adm:ral Dewey dissolving the Schley court of inquiry: "Sir: The court of Inquiry of which you are the president, convened by department's order of July 6, 1901, for the purpose of inquiring into the conduct of Rear Admiral (then Commo; dore) W. S. Schley, U. S. N., retired during the recent war with Spain and the events connected therewith, is this day dissolved. You will int^rm the other members of the court and the judge advocate accordingly. Very respectfully," etc. Secretary Long has disposed finally of the Schley case so far as the Navy department is concerned, by acting upon the findings and conclusions of the court of inquiry. He approves the findings of fact and the opinion of the full court; he i approves the majority opinion where there is a amerence in me cuuu, uc holds that the court could not have entered into a consideration of the question of command at the battle of Santiago and finally he accepts tbo recommendation that no further proceedings shall be had. New York, Special.?Isaac Gill, a tailor, 52 years of age, and an unidentified man, lost their lives at a fire which destroyed a four-story sweat shop building on Clinton street Sunday nieht. Four people were injured, none cf them fatally. About forty men and women were at work in the building. The fire started in the basement and gained such headway that escape was cut off.
