A special to the State from Sumter um that after a long fight and a great deal of filibustering the city council of ' Sumter has passed a license ordinanoe . and the same will go into effect on Oct. 1, and shortly thereafter the test of the law will be made in the courts by those who have joined forces to fight the ordinance. The firm of Haynsworth & Haynsworth have been retained by the anti-license people and will carry the case into court* while the city will be . repiesented by City Attorney T. B. Fraser. The anti-license people thinh they have a good case and are supported by a strong public opinion, it being the ? general belief that the income to be derived from the license tax is nnnecessa- - .'ft ry and will beget extravagance in mu- ' M nicipal expenditures. Be the merits of the case what they may, the outlook for a very interesting legal fight is on and will be watchea with great interest by everybody, ' i : whether directly involved or not You can always judge a girl by the :.^8 number of rings she doesn't wear.
