Sterling, Ky., Miss Claro Vance, if Louisiana. Miss Janie Vance, of Jlinton, S. C. More than seventy-fivo ersons were in attendance. The german was started early in the vouing, and was probably one of the uost Leautiful and thoroughly enjoyed 'ermans ever given here. Beau tiful ladies in the most lovely of ball dresses gliding around with gal lant gentlemen, witb the many colored lights shedding their soft roscato glow upon them, presented a picture which will long be remembered by those who were so fortunate as to be present. During the first half of the evening the german was gracefully led by Mr. J. C. Wilson, and during the latter half by Mr. E. W. Wilson, of Columbia. Au ex cellent supper was served in Dr. J. K. Gilder's olice. Taken altogether this "at h"me" given by Mis Gilder and Miss Pope was one of the most brilliant and most tho roughly enjoyed social events in the history of Nowberry.
