New Orleans, July 25.-Cotton pro ducers will not oipposo the world cot ton conference which Iis to be held here in October, according to W. 3. Thompson, of New Orleans, late today In making public a telegram from J. N. Wannamaker, president of the American Cottdn Association. The 'Wannamaker telegram was sent from Atlanta today after a two day conference there of the cotton as sociation. It follows: "We regret exceedingly that the im pression has been formed that we are lighting the World Cotton Conference. We have not pitched any light on the conference. However, as a result of your telegrams, the entire matter has been adjusted." it was reported that the association ws suspicious of the coming world cotiference in regard to lowering the price of cotton. Although it was reported that. the board of directors adopted a re('solu lion that no member of the Americai Cotton Association should at this time become iden ti fled w1i th the World's Cottonl convention, PresIdent Wanna mai.ker in his commu niention to .\Mr. 'T'lom pson, who was active in the or ganlizatIon of the association, referred to a resoluton only which was for conilning efforts of the organization to a membership campaign and whlch gave notice of the decision to drop any talk inl opposition to the world conference. Word was received here today by \lr. Thompson that President Wilson had signed a joint resolution author izing invitations to other nations to send delegates to the cotton confer ence.
