'Poorly informed as to 'hygiene they have suffered greatly. A regular American hospi tal has been established In the Holy City, and this hospital includes a mod ern laboratory and dispensary, as well as a 'Children's Hospital and Clinic. Hundreds of war orphans are being cared for while destitute mothers are bringing scores of sick and starving babies to the dispensary ,every day. The Red Cross supplies milk, niedi cOne and warm clothing and seeks to stop the awful infant mortality brought. about by the war. More than 6,000 from one locality alone have poured into Jerusalem and all the refugees are delighted with the system of Red Cross baths 'which are given them and which include a thorough scrubbing in American bath tubs. The clean clothes are also very wyelcome and these people, with true Oriental enthusiasm, are actually hi larlous over the unwonted sensation of cleanliness. The Armenian refugees who havu flock~ed by the thousands to this refuge to escape the Turks are among the most. intelligent, industrious and ap preciative of the people who are help) ed. The Red Cross is establishing schools for these children and are giving tho people work as well as im medilato medical riilef and clinic --xr vice where nededccl. Everywhere there twas abundance of things physical for which to be thank fu!; eautiful lights to aid the- clono hidden sun; iwater-works; telephone, and other hand-made things to adlmin Ister to every want, while everywhere was seen the abundance of harvest.
