NOTICE of, the COUNTY TREASURER The Books of the County Treasurer will be open for the collection of State, County and Commutation Road Taxes for fiscal year, 1917,- at the Treasurer's ofilce from October 15th to December 31st, 1917. After Decem ber 31st one per cent will be added. After January 31st, two per cent will be added, and after February 28th, seven per cent will be added till the 15th day of March, 1918, when the books will be closed. All persons owning property in more than ofte township are request ed to call for receipts in each 'of the ' veral townships in which the pro 1 erty is located. This is important, as additional cost and genalty may be attached. All able-bodied rihale citizens be tween the ages of 21 and 60 years of age are liable to pay a poll tax of $1.00 except old soldiers, who are exempt at.50 years of age. Nov. x12.-Mr. C. A. Babb died at his home in this community Satur day afternoon, Nov. 3rd. He li been in failing health for several montjs, so his death was not unexpected. Mr. Babb was in his 07the year of life and had lived in this community all Iris rlife. He was a mat of estimable charac ter and greatly admiral by all who knew him. 'le was prominent in church affairs and was an indefatig able worker. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at Rabun Creek Baptist church, conducted by Rev. <W. A. Baldwin. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Martin of Wn-r rior section visited Mr. I. 'W. Martin and family Tuesday night. Misses Esther and .liuirshal Arm strong of Fountain Inn, were the guests of Miss Merlee Holder Saturday night. Miss Edna Owens of Rabun com munity spent Saturday night with Miss .Jenovee Babb.
