The tenderest sympathy of all of our people goes out to Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Dallas in their overwhelmingly sudden and exceedingly sad bereave nent. Miss Dallas was a recent grad uate of the Woman's College of Due West. She was a beautiful and accom plished young lady and universally loved. Ye were very sorry to hear of the recent death of our schoolmate and friend, Mr. John Cunningham, of Wa torloo. Mr. and Mirs. Andy Dun Richey, of Texas, are visiting relatives and friends here. Mr. Richey was reared bore but moved to Texas in 1887. Ills friends are glad to know that he has prospered in his new home. The Ware Shoals lasonic L odge re cently raised 3 candidates to the sub lime degree of .laster Mlason and cele brated the occasion with a banqiuet. It was our fortune to be present and become the recipients of the IIlistinted hospitality of the Masonic fraternity of Ware Shoals. The low land crop suffered most, as bottoms were overflowed nearly everywhere, By reason of the continued rains the fields are grassy.
