longing to the Statt. At 1 o'clock
the ex- State officidi was brought
into Trial Justice Marshall's oflice,
accomapanijed by his counsel, Judge
S. W. M~elion ; General Conner and
L.ouis Leconto, Esq., appearing for
two State. Th'1e ovidence was heard
upon01 the part of the State. Mr.
~Wells, the book-keeper of the
present Treasurer, testified to the
presont itemized account, amount.
ing to $15,810.90, which the books
of the Treasurer's office showied had
been impro1'perly p~aid by Car'dozo to
Tf. W. Price & Co. It is claimedl by
the committee that Cardozo misap-.

payment of this claim, there being a
