Mrs. Leila Graham and Mr. W. C. Jennings, of Greenville, were visitors here during the past week. Mrs. Lula Christie is spending some time in Denmark with her son, Mr. Herbert Christie, ana family. Miss Ella Louise Molair returned home Saturday after a pleasant visit Co friends in North Augusta. Miss Helen Calhoun has returned to St. Matthews to resume her duties fes teacher in the school there. Miss Mary Patterson leaves this week for Columbia, where she will attend school again this session. Mrs. L. M. Calhoun left this week for a visit to her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Vandiver, of Atlanta. Col. E. O. Calhoun, of Teague, Texas, a brother of Col. Harry ^D. ^Calhoun and Mr^ L. M. Calhoun, of Barnwell, writes as follows: “‘The blue label appears.’ “Thinking I would pay you a visit this month, but the time has about gone. Therefore, I will settle by ’mail. Baseball Players Killed. Emil Huhn, manager and first base- man of the Augusta baseball club, and Frank Reiger, catcher an< out fielder on the dame team, were killed Saturday night .at 9:30 o’clock when the automobile in which they were returning from Charlotte, N. C., turn ed over near Camden. Five other players escaped with more or less serious injuries. Among them was Harry Smythe, who pitched superb ball for Williston in the days,of the Tri-County League. Smythe, who Mr. and Mrs. O. L. Hackney have returned home after a pleasant visit to the former’s parents in Birming ham, Ala. Big Airship Wrecked. The friends of Mr. R, S. Dicks will be glad to know that he is im proving and is expected home at an early date. Mr. Ashton Holland, Jr., returiud home on Tuesday after a delightful Arisit with relatives in Avon Park and Tampa, Fla. Steven and Robert Deason returned home Sunday afternoon from Green- Ville, where they spent the summer with relatives.
