There were 250 claims of various kinds paid during thc month. Adams I layne, head of the state board of health in South Car olina, has made public his report on discates In this state for the last month It 1B seen by this new report that only two new cases of pellagra have been reported from Anderson county, although in tho state ut large, there were 87 new cases of thc dis ease. The statement ls made that thl1? large number does not necessar ily Indicate any spread of tho disease in South Carolina, but rather shows that thc physicians of thc state are taking more pains to report.
