A dispatch from Greenville yester day said tbat Greenville county offi cials bad succeeded In learning tho name of the man now In jail at that place charged with stealing Mrs. Beale's automobile at Calhoun Falls and that of John M. Steele in Green ville. The jailer worked a ruse by which he secured from a "trusty" prisoner a letter that thc man bad written to his mother in Georgia and waa thus able to find out his real name. He said here that his name was Fuller and in Greenville ho auld that it was Smith, both of which were ot course fictitious. Taylor as yet. but lt is believed that he will soon announce his candidacy. Mr. Ashley Suffered A Painful Injury. People in all sections of Anderson county will regret to learn that Hon, J. W. Ashley met with u painful in jury yesterday morning when he foll at his home near Monea Path. Mr. Ashley was coming out of the door when his foot slipped and he went down, injuring his right leg severely. Dr. W. C. Bowen of Belton was at once /i.ummoned and an investigation made. It has not yet been possible to de termine whether or not any bones were broken, but lt is believed that a smaller bone or two in the/leg may have snapped.
