The result of the biggest tobacco
crop this section has ever seen will bo
a big increase in business and general
prosperity from now until the spring
of 1924. Good luck at that time with
the strawberry crop will mean a continuation
of good times throughout
this section.
Conway was alive at an early hour
last Wednesday morn in p. The occasion
was the opening- sales at all of the independent
warehouses of Conway. The
farmers had been advised to bring only
parts of their crop, and not overload
the warehouses to begin with,
and in the mean time to keep their
product in good condition and place it
on the floors after the market had
rotten steady. ,
* * * * *
Tobacco began coming in at an
farly hour last Wednesday morning''
for the Conway warehouses. Some of
it came in on motor trucks, most of it
in wagons drawn by mules. Most of
it, from the very first, showed better
condition than in former years. It was
nicely arranged in graded hand/uls of
leaves. The teachings of those who j
would have better attention paid to
the preparation for the markets have
had their effect and it will result in
getting better prices for what the
growers sell.
