MoLnurin in one of his tolling speeches, ably supported by Messrs. AV. D. Evans and J. P. Therefore bc it Resolved, That this convention en dorses thc platform of the March Con vention ano its exponent, Captain B. H. Tho convention then adjourned, HEN IN RED HILL. EDITOR MARLBORO DEMOCRAT Red Hill Democratic Club ?aet; Julys, elected its old officers, a solid Tillman delegation to thc County Convention, adopted, thc convention instead ot the primary plan, which was lollowcd hy loud cheers for Tillman by every mem ber of thc Club. The anti's were in a very large minority.' Wc Tillman men are democrats, And arc true as steel can be; Helorm wc want, reform we'll have, And have il free from "nngster's" salve. Wc can't bc bought, nor can't bc sold, Neither thc young, nor e'en thc old ; "Farmers are fools," thc ring men said, Bul this is taffy, and is dead. The anti's will be apt to sec, That they'll trom "ring rule" have to lice; They can't elect their ringster men, But we'll elect dear Captain Ben. Farmers all want that which is right, And for it they will always tight; They want some meat, and not all bone, That they may grow and get full grown. We want free money-silver, cold ; Ringslers oppose it, wc are told ; But wc will have it our way, By working for it night and day. We've got thc inside track to-day, So ring men and ring papers say ; If this new statement is a fact, lt proves that there's no outside track. 'Tis strange, and we can't think it right, For those who're wrong to rule lor spite, And rule for their own pockets too, And rob thc Gentiles and the Jew, If men who're sanctified should cling To thc wrong, and to the ring, They should bc named old Bill Paddy, Who'd tell more lies than his daddy. "I promise you that I will do," And tail to do it, is so true, And such a course will trouble bring, in or out of any ring. B. R. Tillman takes the lead, And will get the thing wc need, When he sits on that big chair, In Columbia's bracing air. ****** We must watch both State and Nation, And must work like all creation, And it must meet our approbation, To stick together in our relation. Wo had some trouble with tho natives in tho first of tho your, establishing claims ; since thou everything has been working splondid, and our crops will compare with any around, but they aro Buffering for rain. Poli ties, Oh ! my beautiful Oklahoma, the land of t ho free, and all that's lovely ; has it come to thia, that all our highways and hodges have got to be tramped and scouted by can didates and politicians ? lt is upon us, mid we will do our duty, but bad rather be attacked by all the tribes around us-C h o c t a w s, Chickasaws, Cheyennes, Coman ches and Cherokees. Men and brethren, what shall we do to bo saved ? Every two years tho old Ship of State totters and almost sinks. A littlo March gust struck tho old Ship in Columbia, and such a howl went up all over the land, Oh, wo aro lost, lost!
