The high price of labor and material, as well the advance in the price of desirable lots, almost precludes the hope of having any homes erected for those who desire to rent because at prevailing prices the margin of profit for the landlord is not sufficient to tempt investors. There is, however, considerable activity in the local real estate market and some changes have recently taken plafce. Among those who have recently purchased homes in Lexington are Mr. L. L. Parker, lumberman', who bought the John H. Meetze home place, near the high school building. Mr. J. M.
