Florence, Dec. 2.?The next session of the Methodist conference will be held in Bishopville. Bishopville and Camden extended invitations. Bishopville extended her invitation through the Rev. G. P. Watson, pastor, and the Hon. Thos. G. McLeod, Camden through the Rev. John H. Graves, pastor, and Judge Mendel Smith. Mr. Smith is not a Methodist, but came representing the population of his city and his eloquent speech will long be remembered. He so caught the conference that all voted reluctantly against the judge. Mr. McLeod was also at his best, and with rare humor presented the claims of Bishopville. Bishopville was chosen Dy a good majority, ana on motion of Mr. Graves, of Camden, the selection was made unanimous. Another matter that excited interest was the resolution introduced looking to the membership in the Annual Conference of the lay leaders of the church. The resolution was adopted and the State lay leader, the Hon. Thos. H. Tatum, of Bishopville, and the lay leaders of the several districts are constituted members of the conference. The Rev. Thos. G. Herbert presented a resolution directing the secretary to prepare and forward a message to the venerable Dr. L. A. Weber, of Charleston, the oldest member of the conference, and the secretary was so instructed. The conference accepted responsi-j bility for the collection of $2,000 for the Washington Church being now built by the Southern Methodists, and j the presiding elders were named commissioners of this fund. The Sunday-school board presented its report. Banners for having; collected the largest sums for chil-l dren's day were presented to the! Charleston district, to St. Matthews'sj Sunday-school and to Estill, Hamp-i ton county. Other committees pre-1 sented their reports and tonight the i routine of conference business is completed. An Early Christian. "Does your minister practice what; ; he preaches?" the newcomer ques-j tioned. "He does," the citizen answeredj with a sigh, "and I'd be perfectly! willing to have him stop. He lives' next door to me, and begins at 7 j o'clock Sunday morning to practice, what he is going to preach."?Pittsburg Post. NOTICE TO CREDITORS. AJ1 creditors having claims against the estate of C.
