Bamberg's financial institutions j have been very successful this year, notwithstanding the bad crops and financial stringency. Notwithstanding the heavy rain of last Sunday night, Rev. T. G. The graded school will resume exercises ' next Monday. Wanted.?Position as superintendent of farm, by young married man. Years of experience. W. Edgar Sease, Bamberg, S. C. Our rule is to go to press on Wednesday after- 3 noon, but we print on Tuesday this < week in order that we may close the office on Christmas day. We will be ] open and ready for business on ' Thursday morning. Work on our new building is pro- 1 gressing rapidly these days, and the ' contractor, J. S. They will have j offices both here and at Denmark, ; but the main office will be in Bamberg. Mr. Mayfield has rented out ] his farms, and will devote his entire , time to the practice of his profes- , sion. Rev. T. G. Herbert, the new minister of the Methodist church, arrived with his family last Friday morning. He preached for the first time Sunday morning. After the service a little informal reception was held, at which he and his family were greeted by a number of the members of the church. We are always glad to change advertisements, but again we must insist that they be handed into the office not later than Monday night. For several weeks our paper has been issued several hours late because we TtTaya nuorrnn with phaTICTOS of ads. TYtlV^ VTV1& V?t4 ?t?V4. at the last moment. We want the merchants to change their ads. often, but we must issue the paper on time. The Herald has been steadily receiving new subscribers for the past six months. In fact, our circulation is steadily growing all the time, slowly but surely. We have lost only one subscriber in many months, and we send out this week more papers than ever in the history of the paper. The people are beginning to appreciate the service we render. Our books are always open to advertisers. The bank statements published in this issue make interesting reading, as they show the financial condition of this county. We must insist that changes of advertisements be sent us on Monday. For the past few weeks our force has been badly overworked because of the unfortunate habit some of our patrons have of waiting until the last minute to send in new copy. We want to be obliging and have put ourselves and our employees to great inconvenience. New Advertisements. Bank of Olar?Statement. J. A. Hunter? In Hardware.
