C. \ Receives an Appointment Govenor Van Sant, of Minnesota, was unusually amused this week to receive a letter from a constituent asking for an appointment to a political office. The letter read: "I want to be an office holder. I am t not very particular as to the office. Anything within your power to confer will ' do; any old thing left over." This so amused the governor that he at once made out a commissson appointing the applicant a notary public, and charged hiin $3 for it. BE QUICK.
