County Agent Boylston, in discuss ing the problems facing the cotton farmer at this time, has the follow ing to say: “There are two major problems concerning the cotton farm er at this time, one is to malqk a cot ton crop and the other is to sell it properly. The first one to be con sidered is the one that we have been worrying with during this year up to the present time and has taken all of our time. Different means of con trol have been used with very diver gent opinions as to the value of them. I hear one farmer say that he has used the molasses mixture all during the year and he has a good crop, another one says that he has used it and has lots of boll weevils, then still another one will tell >00 that >i*on at all and still >p snd very llt- tle a i the present tune; d one that h^ used tother one thaT has a ' and they vary ta th » the reealta that « Of com we al so sheet tkiage Wt t I they are only ■pis I are that *e ko«e be twmMy fMr hr n > mmt davthtf >we* fee that fast these I ef be* dry r * few hy Dr W M )adss. pater ef the Barnwell tit Charvh Mrs WiUiana was a slater of Coroner J. Why aro factory chimneys built the way they are? The answer to thia question, according to Prof. A. G. Bamberg, Aug. 4.—The past ten days have been bad ones for the' spread of the boll \yeevil in this sec tion. It has been either raining or cloudy, for this period of time and the boll weevil has done a great deal of damage to the cotton. Before this v/et season commenced the wea ther had been almost ideal since the Cbtton crop had been planted and prospects were brignt for a fu’l crop. Planters are fighting the pest and are picking up the squares, hoping with the aid of better weather to make ■ good crop of cotton. If the boll weevil does not damage the mature bolls this section ahead) has • very good crop made.
