House Auditor Supervis’r UNION COUNTY MAN WINS HANDS DOWN McLeod in Statement Says That He Will Be “Gov ernor of All the People.’ Thos. G. McLeod, of Bishopville, was nomi nated for Governor in the South Carolina Demo cratic primary held Tuesday, defeating Cole. L. Blease. of Columbia and Newberry, by a majority which will probably not be under I 5,000. The vote developed what was virtually a land slide for-McLeod, and he swept the entire State, carrying all but a handful of counties. Mr. Blease. who received 77.798 votes in the first primary, in creased his vote I uesday by less than 10,004. In a total of I 78.071 votes, Hope received I04.54J and Swearingen 73,528, Hope’s lead being 31,015. In the Governor s race probably not over five or six thousand votes are unreported. DOUBLE POND ITEMS The many Barnwell County friends of Mr. Henry Ulmer, of Kline, will learn with sincere regret of his death, which occurred at 3 o'clock Tuesday morning after an illness of less than two days following a stroke of paralysis. He was about 40 years of age an,| is survived by'his wife and little three months old baby, three brothers, Messrs. Johnnie, George and Tom Ulmer, one sister, Mrs. Hay Williams, and his stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Ulmer, of Barnwell. The bereaved family has the sympathy of the community in their loss. His body was laid to rest at 5 o’clock Tuesday afternoon in the. Hogg'ceme tery near Kline. CARD OF THANKS.
