Miss Marguerite Harley left Tuesday for her home in Williston, after a suc cessful year’s work as a teacher in the Barnwell Graded School. She was ac companied home by Misses Olive Cal houn and Zelle Loadholt. Mrs. B. P. Davies and little son, Ben, Jr., returned Thursday afternoon from a visit of several weeks to relatives and friends in the Old North State. They stopped over for a day with Mrs. Lena Davies at Columbia College. Messrs. J. C. Loadholt, of Brunson, and J. F, Loadholt, of Ulmer, who were visitors to the county seat last week, put themselves in good standing as members of the ever increasing Peo ple family before they returned to their homes. "Valley Farm” will be presented in the Opera House Friday evening by Springfield talent, the proceeds to go for the benefit of the Methodist parson age building fund. Winthrop College ' SCHOLARSHIP and ENTRANCE EXAMINATION The examination for the award of va cant scholarships in Winthrop College and for the admission of new students will be held at the County Court House on Friday, July 4, at 9 a. m. Applicants must be not less than sixteen years of age. When scholarships! are vacant after July 4 they will be awarded to those making the highest average a this examination, provided they meet the conditions governing the award.
