Ai ken's largest tourist hotel, at J1 o'clock Sunday morning, completely destroyed the structure and it« contents, entail ing a loss estimated at over ♦800,000. Many of the guests had narrow es capes and heavy losses in a IlnMicial way. Practically nothing was saved from the burning building, so rspid was tbe spread of the flames., Two clerks saved the life of an SO vear old New Yorker, who had to bo lifted from liis bed and carried to safety. Those who were rendered temporarily home less by the fire are being cared for in the hoarding houses and private homes of Aiken.
