Mr. Smith was buried In the Willis- ton Cemetery on .Sunday, Rev. Mr. Jamison conducting the religious ser vices. after which his brothers of the Knights of Pythias with their beauti ful and impressive ritual laid his body to tbe last long rest. The largo attendance was a testimo nial mord speaking Ihan words of the high regard in which he was held, tbe great sorrow that saddens the doofniu nity and the heartfelt sympathy given to his bereaved parents, brothers and sisters. < Mr. Smith was about 38 years of age, a member of one of the best and oldest families of the county. He had served aslntendant of Willlsfon for several terms and was one of the most popular, progressive and successful citizens. The relatives of Mr. Smith have of fered a reward of $2,500, which Gov ernor Heyward will be asked to sup plement. Mrs. J. Allen Tobin and Miss Carrie Cave remained North after the inaugu ration of Mr. Roosevelt, to prepare for the Inauguration of King Fashion, a greater ruler, in Barnwell.
