New Auto Licenses Are To Cost More South Carolina motor vehicle owners will pay 50 cents more for their 1949-50 licenses than they have been paying formerly. A 1949 legislative act which re vised the licensing regulations in creased the highway safety fee from 50 cents to $1. This safety fee, which is in cluded in the license fee. helpi finance the highway patrol's safe ty program, Chief Highway Com missioner C. R. McMillan ex plained. A 15-cent postage charge, in stead of the previous 10 cents, also is authorized in the act. The new schedule of fees, in cluding postage: “A” license, $2.15, formerly $1.60; “B”, $3.15, formerly $2.60; “C”, $4.15, formerly $3.60; “D", $5.15, formerly $4.60; “E”, $6.15, formerly $5.60; “F”, $7.15, former ly $6.60; “G”, $8.15, formerly $7.60.
