At half time period ten bands formed the words “Shrine Bowl** and played together “Na tional Emblem March.” The Camden band formed the letter “L” for the word Bowl All ten letters were 18 yards high and the words “Shrine Bowl” cov ered a distance of 107 yards from en dto end. The trip to Charlotte was mode possible by the Red Fes Club of Camden who charter ed a Greyhound bus and fur nished meals for the members on the trip. The band - ben and their director en joyed this wonderful trip axyl are grateful tor the Red Pea Club for making if pnssihls The Camden Lions Club and several members 6t the Red Pet Club contributed liberally to de fray part of the expenses of the “over-night bend trip” to Charles ton a few weeks ago when the band accompanied the Bulldogs to the Camden-North Charleston football game. Other contribu tions were made by many local citizens, who in return heard the game by wire, in the Grammar School auditorium. The band is happy to know that the people in Camden are supporting them. These nice trips give an incentive for the band to ar.ir The band participated hi Camden Christmas parade. _1 A preien- ious restaurant on Highway No. L is now open to the public and judging by the capacity buainate that the establishment has done in the opening days it is certain < n»e < Emec»on place is located just three miles west of Camden. It is of brick construction and embodies the latest ideas of Drive-In architecture. The area in front of the building ia being graded and landscaped and d por tion ia to be paved. Ben Emerson, in building the Drive-In, is optimistic over the future of Camden and area. He has expended a big sum of money in establishing a Drive-In layout that is most complete in every de tail: Curb service is maintained and the interior of the drive-in is an interesting perspective of mod ernity with deeply upholstered booths, a bar, etc. Powder room facilities are the very latest type.
