Catawba JIhh Water. I On lafct Wednesday morning at o'clock thu water at Mountain Island , began for the first time to nun over the spillway at the big dam. Gyving to rccent rains in Weatorn North Caro lina, the Catwba has been flushed more than wt any time, since the dam wttu begun. Now thu water la eighty five Jfeet high and i? pouring in tor renta over the dam, The big lake i*i now covering thouaanda of acrea of land and ia backed up the Catawba more thpn twelve miles. The entire power plant is running full force and developing eighty thousand horae power. Viaitora are Hocking to Moun* tain Island from far und near to see for the first time the finished lake. They are allowed to see through the power house on week days. Many are taking advantage of this privilege!? Mount Holly, N.
