Har- 1 din, in this city, Monday last at v about one o'clock, in the 86th f year of hor age. The remains were taken to Monroe, N. C., on Tuesday, where all that was mortal of this grand old mother in Israel dow rests in peace by the v side of a devoted husband, who . preceded her to that laud 'whence no traveller returns," a I few years ago. c The deceased was the mother s of a large and gifted family, many of whom now have "silver threads among the gold," as a reminder * that they, too, are neariug life's ? sunset. e Vaia is any attempt to meas- 0 ore the loss of a mother to her, , children! after all the docIs have I sung and lovers dreamed, outside s of Heaven there is no love like s mother-love. We believe the ten- a der care devoted to those nearest t and dearest went with her to the better land. We fancy her awaiting them in the place pre pared for her, a little apart, possibly, from the innumerable com- , pany in bright array; perhaps in one of the "Palaces of ivory it's * windows crystal clear," of which a old Bonar sang.
